Survivorship in Sport.
Credit to Joy of The People Soccer Club for putting this together.
As it applies to soccer, it does so with Lacrosse as well.
Incredibly fascinating.
Mikey Powell.
Arguably the best player in the history of college lacrosse.
His jersey was recently retired in Syracuse’s Carrier Dome.
A 4-time 1st team all-American.
We can produce players like this is we allow the player the freedom to see the field as a canvas and their stick as the paint brush.
Perception Action Coupling.
Defined as the coordination between vision, time, space, and movement, particularly the hands and feet, it is the link between what we see and what we do as we we take in and process our environment based on the current perception.
No two situations in lacrosse are the same, players are consistently taking in new information from one moment to another. In an ever-changing environment, that is quite stimulating to say the least, the most potent recipe to player development is to present our players with new and interesting situations, allow them to self-inquire and be self-directed through these situations.
Step back and watch the magic, don’t be discouraged if it looks like a mess and sounds like a mess, how sharp were you when you first tried to hold a conversation in a language you were just learning?
